Hotel El Velero is located a 20 minute drive from the Liberia International Airport (LIR) and central to many of Guancaste's most exciting tours and attractions.  The drive time from San Jose is around 4 hours and all on paved roads which are well maintained.

Guancaste is rapidly becoming the premier tourist destination in Costa Rica, and with good reason.  There are a multitude of small, secluded beaches, fine dining, championship golf courses, world class sport fishing, jungle, hiking trails and many natural wonders.
